Hinge vs. Squat

Two patterns, two different jobs. The hinge loads your glutes and hamstrings. The squat loads your quads. Watch the first inch of the rep to know which one you are doing.

Where are your elbows? Curl infographic: elbows that drift forward shorten the moment arm and unload the top of the rep, elbows pinned at your sides keep the load on the biceps. Includes the Side View Check.

Where are your elbows?

When the elbows drift forward, the shoulder helps lift and the top of the curl goes light. Pin them at your sides and the biceps does the work. Film one set from the side to check.
